One of the most famous jazzmen of Russia, which received international recognition, will visit Berlin with a single concert. Oleg Kireev is a saxophonist who is known and appreciated all over the world for his virtuoso playing. This is an artist whose concerts come as a visit to an old friend. Finally, this is a musician, whom the British media call the “revolutionary Russian saxophonist”.
On June 6, for the first time in Berlin, Oleg Kireev will present his concert program in the Panda Theater, which will collect all the music that inspires the artist: actual jazz and world jazz music hits in the author's style.

What's cool (to me, at least) about the result is how unabashed the band is in swinging genuinely hard on chestnut exotica like Puerto Rican-born Ellington trombonist Juan Tizol's "Caravan," which Oleg Kireyev turned to as an encore, and seems born to blow, dervish-like.   Howard Mandel, president of the Jazz Journalists Association, USA more
